Couple raises child to choose his or her own gender, keeps sex secret from family and friends.

This has to be one of the most insane stories I have ever commented on.

The USA Today is reporting:

NEW YORK (AP) – Ridiculous or ultra-enlightened? A Toronto couple’s decision to keep the gender of their 4-month-old baby a secret has touched off a sometimes nasty debate over how far parents should go in protecting young ones from society’s boy-girl biases.

If this is enlightened then I would like to stay in the dark.

Kathy Witterick and David Stocker recently landed on the front page of the Toronto Star, explaining that they hope their third child, Storm, can remain untouched by the connotations of pink versus blue, male versus female, long enough to make up his or her own mind.

The decision has online haters and supporters of the family on hyperdrive. Child development experts, meanwhile, question the impact on the cherubic infant later in life and whether the couple has gone too far in their quest for gender neutrality.

“This is not a secret without consequences,” said Mike Brody, a child psychiatrist in Washington, D.C., and instructor at the University of Maryland. “This seems more controlling than the helicopter parents.”

Soon after the baby was born, in a pool of water at home, Witterick, 38, and Stocker, 39, sent an email announcing to loved ones: “We’ve decided not to share Storm’s sex for now — a tribute to freedom and choice in place of limitation, a stand up to what the world could become in Storm’s lifetime (a more progressive place? …).”

I think I will grow some fruit in my garden and not tell anyone what kind of fruit it is until the fruit can decide what it wants to be; strawberries, peaches, apples or cumquats.  Honestly, there has to be a limit on the craziness of the progressive culture that is sweeping our world, doesn’t there?  I would even go as far as to say this is borderline child abuse, not physical but definitely phycological.

We are getting to a point where even absolute truth and natural law are becoming relevant.  I wonder how far away we are from a human deciding to be considered another species and be legally changed to that species?  I know some people think there are no absolutes, I just wonder if they are absolutely sure?

Liza Hough, 29, a student of traditional medicine in Alameda, Calif., isn’t a parent but felt so strongly about the family’s “courage” in trying to knock down gender walls that she began a Facebook page in support. She called their approach “peaceful radicalism” and told the AP: “Whether these parents intended it as a political move or not, it is precisely what it has become.”

Throughout history, Hough said, people have had to go to what was considered “‘too far’ and radical in order to break down barriers.”

I am sorry but the gender of a human being is not a barrier, it is just the way you were born.  What this couple is doing is not “peaceful radicalism” either, it is harmful and damaging to this child who will be confused and mocked growing up.  I have no problem with boys having long hair but this is insane.

I think this problem goes much deeper in fact as I see this progressive attitude expanding into Christianity. Churches, preachers and ministries are deciding that they want challenge what they call barriers in faith and doctrine.  They go against God’s truth on things like abortion, homosexuality, premarital sex, marriage and much more.  They want to change Christianity to be relevant to todays society when God’s truth is the same yesterday, today and forever.

These progressive or emergent churches think they can decide what is or isn’t a fundamental truth of God, in fact fundamental would be a bad word with many of them.  God is consistent and unchanging in His truth and we do not have the authority to just try and change it because society wants to believe something else. The ten commandments were just that, commandments; we cannot treat them as suggestions.

Australian abortionist charged with infecting 49 women with Hepatitis C – It’s not just the American baby killers who are bottom feeders.

Anesthesiologist James Latham Peters charged with endangering life of 49 women at clinic in Melbourne

An Australian doctor has been charged with endangering the lives of patients after allegedly infecting nearly 50 women with hepatitis C at anabortion clinic.

James Latham Peters, 61, who worked as an anaesthesiologist at the Melbourne clinic, was charged with 54 counts of conduct endangering life, negligently causing serious injury and recklessly causing serious injury. The most serious charge carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.

Peters was released on bail of A$250,000 (£162,000) after appearing briefly at Melbourne magistrates court on Friday. He was not required to enter pleas to the charges, which relate to 49 patients at the clinic, who health officials say contracted the same strain of hepatitis C as Peters between 2008 and 2009.

Hepatitis C, which is spread through the blood, can cause serious liver problems, including cirrhosis and cancer. Police have not released details on how they believe the disease was transmitted, but Bram Alexander, a spokesman for the Victoria state department of health, said officials had closely investigated all the infection control procedures at the clinic and did not find any problems.

“That’s precisely why, back in early last year, we referred these matters to the police for further investigation because our investigation could find no plausible reason as to why the infection took place,” Alexander said.

Peters had his registration suspended in February 2010. Under his bail conditions, Peters must not work in any medical or health-related field and must not contact staff at a number of medical centres where he previously worked, including the abortion clinic. He was also required to surrender his passport.

Health officials tested more than 4,000 of Peters’ patients during their investigation, and found 49 who were infected with a strain of the virus genetically linked to his.

Just more proof that the abortion industry world wide is filled by bottom feeder doctors who cannot make it anywhere else in the medical profession. Another hero of the pro-death movement will end up where they deserve to be, behind bars.

Pepsi is using aborted baby cells to develop flavor enhancers – Boycott called against Pepsico

Scores of pro-life groups are calling for a public boycott of food giant, PepsiCo due to their partnership with Senomyx, a biotech company using aborted fetal cells in the research and development of artificial flavor enhancers.

Pepsi is funding the research and development — and paying royalties to Senomyx which uses HEK-293 (human embryonic kidney cells) to produce flavor enhancers for Pepsi beverages.

Senomyx boasts they have over 800,000 unique flavors for foods. The human tongue recognizes only 5 (salty, savory, sweet, sour and bitter).  But cells expressing certain proteins produce a chemical signal when flavors are introduced, which determines if it’s the proper flavor. The aborted fetal cells are not in the product itself.

“There are many options PepsiCo could be using instead of aborted fetal cells” noted Debi Vinnedge, President of Children of God for Life, the group spearheading the boycott.

The revelation — a potential public relations nightmare — motivated Campbell Soup to sever all relations with Senomyx.

However, PepsiCo continues their business relationship despite the abortion connection. They drew pubic ire earlier this year when they responded that “our collaboration with Senomyx is strictly limited to creating lower-calorie, great-tasting beverages for consumers.”

When pressed further, PepsiCo attempted to pacify angry consumers with a form letter response insinuating they had been accused of conducting aborted fetal tissue research.  Their duplicity again drew public outrage.

Bradley Mattes, executive director of Life Issues Institute, said, “While aborted fetal cells aren’t actually in the product itself, the close relationship is enough to repulse most consumers.  To our knowledge, this is the first time a food product has been publicly associated with abortion.”

Pro-life organizations are asking the public to boycott all Pepsi drink products and encourage consumers to contact Pepsi management requesting that they sever all ties with Senomyx.
